Davey Jones has a lifelong involvement in agriculture. He was born and raised on his family’s farm near Fletcher, Oklahoma. He participated in 4-H and FFA activities and continued down that road, graduating from Oklahoma State University in 1985 with a degree in Agricultural Education. Following four years of teaching, he purchased a farm supply business in Fletcher and operated that prior to selling the company in 2003. He then worked for a feed company for seven years. In 2010, he accepted a position with a farmer’s co-op, where he established a crop insurance agency with the goal of helping the co-op’s customers with their operations. Fast forward to Davey joining the AgDefense team and he is a vital member where he is key in the training of agents and keeping the team abreast of the changing provisions in crop insurance and leading the efforts to use the AgDefense method in all areas of insurance.
The diversity of Davey’s background has proven to be a huge advantage to the agency as it has grown. Davey says, “I am always anxious to see new challenges approach and help our company assist customers in dealing with each challenge.”
Davey resides in Elgin with his wife, Sheila. Davey has three daughters, two of whom are married, and several grandchildren.
